11+ Music Aptitude Test Preparation Watford

The SW Herts Music Aptitude Test (MAT) is how the seven SW Herts Consortium schools award their Year 7 music places: Watford Grammar School for Girls, Watford Grammar School for Boys, Parmiter's, Queens' School, Rickmansworth School, St Clement Danes and Croxley Danes. The next test is in September 2027. Stage 1 is a 60-question listening test in four sections: pitch, melody, rhythm and texture. Music Gym offers 11+ MAT preparation at the Meriden Community Centre, Watford, and online. In 2026, 10 Music Gym pupils reached Stage 2.
